I am seduced by the paintings of Turner, not just the beautiful burning poetic rages for which he is known for today but also the well articulated and finely calculated works that won him such fame and fortune in his own time. The burning of the British buildings of parliament, the onward rush of a steam train, the swirling ominous play of hurricane over ocean... these are the things that have influenced this painting. |
